Edmonton Hypnotherapy CEO Mindset Daily Newsletter-56
subconscious mind review

In several of the last emails (begin your review here) we have been looking at decision making and action.

We must come to understand that:

-many of the decisions we make are not freely chosen, fully conscious decisions.
-many of the decisions we make are simply automatic responses that have been triggered.

This essentially means that the internal robot (aka subconscious mind) is at the helm, acting on beliefs that have been so deeply installed that we no longer consciously question them.
This is perfectly acceptable when it comes to automatic ways of being that serve us. However, when a change that will lead to a more satisfying or fulfilled life is required, we must remember that the internal robot:

-lacks wisdom
-is not our higher power
-is not our soul
-has the job of maintaining what has been programmed
(review basic information about the subconscious mind)

I have spoken about the need to be “one step ahead of the internal robot” if we are to close the GAP, and create new ways of being. We need to do this if we are to become the CEO of our lives.

  • I have suggested that choosing (deciding) and cementing new beliefs is a highly evolved ability and one that our natural tendencies will rebel against.
  • I have encouraged you to become more aware of the automatic daily activities you engage in and recognize that there is a belief backing these ways of being.

The part of us that can anticipate the internal robot and prepare in advance with a solid, s.m.a.r.t. incremental plan is the potential we each were born with. Remember that this potential, through social programming, has often been quieted.

The majority of individuals who access services at Hypnosis for Life have, at one time or another made good use of: 1) traditional clinical psychology services  2) medication  3) community counselling, 12 step programs and/or treatment centers.

These options provide initial needed relief, however, relapse is common. Challenges tend to re-occur until the subconscious mind has fully accepted and absorbed new paths of least resistance.
