Note the use of the word
“retreat.” Potential retreats but it does not disappear.
For those with addiction issues, an internal “knowing” of not
being “ok” often begins in childhood. This is a primitive response at a time
when vulnerable spongy little minds do not have the cognitive or functional
capacity to reason.
Remember, negative programming is usually not intended to be malicious. Creating order out of the
chaotic, combustive, and frenetic state of little minds and bodies can be a
challenge for most early programmers.
While intentions may be honorable, the
methods used often created unfavorable results. These results carry over into
adulthood and are manifested in confidence, anxiety, depression, anger and addiction issues.
