The majority of individuals who access services at Hypnosis for Life have, at one time or another made good use of: 1) traditional clinical psychology services  2) medication  3) community counselling, 12 step programs and/or treatment centers.
These options provide initial needed relief, however, relapse is common. Challenges tend to re-occur until the subconscious mind has fully accepted and absorbed new paths of least resistance.

"Don't fear failure. Fear being in the exact same place next year as you are today." Michael Hyatt

CATEGORIZATION

The ability to deliberately, consciously categorize external influences is a skill that many people never develop. However, without this ability, we become easily triggered, and the subconscious mind quickly moves down paths of least resistance that are not aligned with our current goals.

Without the ability to categorize:

-we do not see, or experience shades of grey.

-any stimuli that appears to have commonality with another, triggers a conditioned response.

-we are at the mercy of the subconscious mind, highly vulnerable, and susceptible to external daily influences/forces/triggers.

-our automatic reactions to past events or current circumstances “leak out” and contaminate other areas of our lives.

The skill of categorization supports us:

-to become more deliberate about assigning value to the influences that trigger automatic reactions.

-to become more intentional about where we spend our resources, and minimizes damaging outcomes.

-to alter responses that have become conditioned or hard-wired at the subconscious level.

Categorization is a skill that most people can learn.

As indicated on the home page, the subconscious mind is not our soul, or our spirit, rather, it is a learning machine. It is a mistake to ever assume that the subconscious mind “knows best.” It does not, it is fundamentally lazy and will always seek the path of least resistance, until it is re-educated.

Taking charge of our life experience requires an understanding of how the subconscious mind operates, creating incremental plausible changes, and then developing strategies for the maintenance of those positive changes.

Incorporating neuro linguistic programming in private clinical hypnotherapy work supports the learning needs of the subconscious mind. Updated, freely chosen, healthier paths of least resistance can be created, hard-wired, fully accepted, and absorbed by the subconscious mind, with the right strategies and a commitment to a process.
