ADDICTION RECOVERY-PROTECTING & CARING FOR THE FUTURE YOU JOURNAL SERIES
Supporting the Subconscious Mind to Accept a New Self-Image

PROFILING ASSIGNMENT #1 PART D

IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH SOBRIETY BUT ARE STILL WORKING TOWARDS PROTECTING AND CARING FOR YOUR FUTURE SELF...YOU ARE BECOMING THE CEO YOUR LIFE.

CREATING LASTING CHANGE REQUIRES A WILLINGNESS TO VIEW OBSTACLES AS LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

The reality is that impressing new ways of being onto the subconscious mind is a process. Just when we think we have made positive gains we will be challenged by triggers. The subconscious mind will continue to serve up old ways of being until a new pathway (aka cow path) has been accepted and absorbed.

Oftentimes we need to work very hard at maintaining hope and faith that real change can occur. We need to, at minimum, see change a a possibility when this happens.

Along the way we need to have flexibility in our strategies and be willing to honor small milestones towards a goal. This can be very difficult for anyone in recovery.

However, it is crucial to realize that if others have met their goal, so can you. Your journey will be different and you must be willing to experiment with process

To do: answer these questions in your journal.

1. How willing am I to begin experimenting with new ways of being as indicated in my Part C answers?

2. How able am I to begin experimenting with new ways of being as indicated in my Part C answers?

3. What, if any, obstacle/s might get in the way of me experimenting with my answers in Part C?

4. If I have identified any obstacles, can I identify the one thing I can do to eliminate or diminish the impact of the obstacle/s?

5. What resources do I need to move forward?
