ADDICTION RECOVERY-PROTECTING & CARING FOR THE FUTURE YOU JOURNAL SERIES
Supporting the Subconscious Mind to Accept a New Self-Image

GETTING STARTED

IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH SOBRIETY BUT ARE STILL WORKING TOWARDS PROTECTING AND CARING FOR YOUR FUTURE SELF...YOU ARE BECOMING THE CEO YOUR LIFE.

TIPS FOR RECEIVING THE MOST BENEFIT FROM THIS ADDICTION RECOVERY JOURNAL SERIES

  • answer questions with your first automatic immediate response.
  • realize that without awareness, curiosity, planning and experimenting you will likely find that your circumstances in the future are the same as they are today.
  • see that the work you begin to do now is about caring for and protecting the future you.
  • stay focused on a realistic goal.
  • look for the to do and complete the short surveys.

TERMS TO KNOW

Original potential-the unique, innate tendencies, preferences, talents and capacities we are born with.

Cow paths-are paths of least resistance, automatic conditioned responses absorbed by the subconscious mind. Cow paths are seen in beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

CEO-being the CEO of your life ultimately refers to being in charge of your thoughts, feelings and  behaviors, and choosing new beliefs that are aligned with your original potential. Becoming the CEO of our lives means that we consciously, deliberately choose to develop new subconscious programs.

GAP-refers to the space between where you are now and where you would prefer to be in your life or in relation to a specific goal.

A.P.O-refers to becoming absolutely positively obsessed about the creation of something better for yourself.

DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE FROM THIS ADDICTION RECOVERY JOURNAL SERIES

People come to this work having made one of two decisions:

  • they have identified themselves as an addict
  • they have identified themselves as a problem user

The goals people bring into this work are varied:

  • to supplement traditional addictions treatment
  • to quit using substances altogether
  • to make changes to their substance use
  • to regroup after a relapse

Everyone beginning addiction recovery work is hard pressed to imagine a life without substances. This is perfectly logical. The subconscious mind has accepted ways of being (aka cow paths) and fights to maintain what is, whether or not it is in our best interest. The decision to shore oneself up in preparation for making needed changes is for many people, a realistic one. The decision to make use of every available resource when we are attempting to seduce the subconscious mind into accepting a new reality is an intelligent one.

Only you can decide the intention and mindset that you will bring into this journal series. What you receive from this series today will be very different from what you might receive several months from now, if you decide to complete the series a second time. Every time you allow yourself to examine, explore and experiment, you begin to slowly and incrementally cause the subconscious mind to sit up and take notice.

To do-begin with writing down your goal in your new journal. You are free to change this goal as time goes by. But it is important to begin the journal series with a goal that feels manageable for you to attain within the next three months.

"We need to systematically regain a belief in ourselves and make a decision about who we are going to be."TLC
