HELPFUL & UNHELPFUL BELIEFS

IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH SOBRIETY BUT ARE STILL WORKING TOWARDS PROTECTING AND CARING FOR YOUR FUTURE SELF...YOU ARE BECOMING THE CEO YOUR LIFE.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT SOME OF OUR LEARNED (BORROWED) BELIEFS MIGHT STILL BE USEFUL AND SERVE US WELL.

Some beliefs allow us to live well, to be healthy, to feel successful and to contribute to the world. The beliefs that fuel positive decisions and actions are beliefs that we want to keep.

The beliefs that have allowed us to create a satisfying present and position us for a bright future are ones that we want to hold on to.

To do: answer these questions in your journal:

1. Which current beliefs about myself have supported the development of a positive present, in some area of my life? 

2. Which current beliefs, about myself, will help me to create a successful future, as defined by me, in three months time? 

3. What other belief/s might be helpful in terms of who I would like to be in three months time? (In other words, what new belief/s might help you to close the GAP?) 

IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT SOME OUR OUR LEARNED (BORROWED) BELIEFS MIGHT NOT BE USEFUL. THESE BELIEFS LIMIT THE EXPRESSION OF OUR ORIGINAL POTENTIAL, STEER US TOWARD AN UNFULFILLING FUTURE AND HELP TO MAINTAIN SUBSTANCE ISSUES.

1. Is life meant to be hard?

2. Is the world a jungle with a scarcity of resources?

3. Am I capable of learning?

4. What comes to mind for me when I ponder the question- “what was my little mind fed?”
