Phobia Help with Hypnosis
Do you have a phobia? There are many common phobias such as fear of flying, fear of needles, fear of elevators, these are all surprisingly common for many adults. Phobias often respond well to a hypnotherapy. This is especially true when we use a combination of strategies such as hypnosis, neuro-hypnosis, hypnotherapy, solution focused coaching and neuro linguistic programming (NLP) FREE MINI-COURSE A fear is a response to real danger. A phobia on the other hand, while still uncomfortable, is an illogical reaction to something that actually poses little or no threat. Common examples:
- Animals-mice, spiders, insects, snakes
- Environmental-storms, heights, the dark
- Bodily-blood, needles, dentistry, surgery
- Situational-flying, elevators, enclosed spaces, being sick, public speaking
Often people who have a phobia will use avoidance as a coping mechanism. Experiencing the trigger causes panic, anxiety and a sense of no control. Opportunities to experience and explore life are lost. Phobias are often caused by a situation that the mind detaches from and this causes a symbolic attachment to occur. This makes the fear more concrete and logical to the mind. Other times, simple exposure can generate a phobia. For example overhearing another patient cry out at the dentist! Hypnotherapy to treat phobias can be very powerful.
