Session philosophy-when it comes to weight loss we all tend to have a running commentary going on in our heads. Often the internal dialogue is fairly damaging to the self esteem. In addition, the inner talk often gets in the way of weight loss progress. Does any of the below sound familiar to you?“I am fat.”
How we speak to ourselves says volumes about where we are at, where we hope to be and how soon we will get there. We simply cannot allow our inner talk to run out of control. Like it or not there is a need to discipline our thinking. This is easier said then done without tools.
If you have had years of inner fat talk, it will not be quieted over night. Creating a new inner dialogue means a willingness to be open to having a new conversation with you. We cannot simply quiet the inner voice; rather we need to direct it. Why bother? The longer you allow this aspect of self to run out of control the longer and harder the road will be to a new healthier state of being.
You cannot simply will yourself to be “nicer” in your self talk. If this worked you would likely have created the shift by now. Self talk is deeply embedded and requires a subconscious shift.
