“I am currently taking anti-anxiety medication.”
Most clients who experience anxiety are currently taking anti-anxiety medication, or have done so in the past. Often there is a long history of being prescribed medication during difficult times, and the use is sporadic.
For many individuals, the use of medication lays a beneficial foundation for being able to make the best use of strategies designed to create new ways of being. Medication can support shifts in physiological functioning, allowing for a less aroused state and better learning.
For many, combining the use of medication while creating new mindsets and developing new behavior patterns is the answer. However, it is not unusual for individuals to cease medication before new ways of being have been solidly cemented and absorbed by the subconscious mind.
