"I would like to avoid, hide from the world."
For most clients the experience of anxiety can feel all consuming. Coping with a sense of internal chaos can leave one with little energy to manage external demands.
Many individuals who have a prolonged experience with anxiety learn to distrust their ability to make sound decisions about other people and situations. The state of anxiety can also create distorted perceptions and inflexible thinking, resulting in an array of difficulties in relationships. A vicious cycle is created and a decision is made to protect the self by avoiding external stimulus.
Overtime the subconscious mind accepts and absorbs the decision to avoid people and situations that may possibly trigger an anxious episode. The subconscious mind will enforce this way of being, or path of least resistance, until it is re-educated.
